Halloween makeup – Zebra tutorial!

Halloween is just around the corner and The Hot Mess Blog is getting ready for some amazing halloween themed posts! The first one of the #HotMessHalloween series is an amazing makeup tutorial. Last year I’ve made a super spooky and scary zombie makeup that you can see here, This year I wanted to do something different. Not everyone wants to wear a spooky costume on halloween, so I’ve decided to get into the animal world and show you how to make a super fun zebra makeup tutorial!

I have to thank my good friend and ex-roommate Francesca Startari that kindly helped me with the tutorial. Not only she is an amazing makeup artist, but she is also an amazing hairstylist. As you can see by the pictures, we came up with the idea of creating an updo that resembles a mane. And the best thing is that this makeup tutorial is super chip to make and the hairstyle is crazy simple.

Choose the area of your face in which you want to concentrate your zebra stripes. Take your white pencil and fill in the area you chose. With your black eyeliner draw a few stripes across your face. Have fun with it. Just be creative. Put on false eyelashes and line your inner corner. Define your lips with a black lip liner and put on your dark or black lipstic. Finish off with a bit of mascara and bronzer for more definition.

For the hairstyle:

Divide your hair into three sections. Create three ponytails. One on top, one on the middle and one on the lower section of your head. The ponytails should be alligned on the center of your head. Tease your hair with a teasing brush and create three very messy buns. Adjust your buns with bobby pins and you are good to go.
